Batasia Loop is situated in Darjeeling( near Ghum railway station)..It is a spiral railway to lower the gradient of the ascent of the Darjeeling Himlayan Railway.The track spirals around over itself through a tunnel and over a hilltop.It was commissioned in 1919.
There is also a memorial to the Gorkha Soldiers of the Indian Army.
