Creality have released their own BLtouch auto bed levelling upgrade, so I thought I would purchase one to put it through its paces. Similar to when I tested the upgraded 1.1.4 mainboard, the hardware represents great value but the software and firmware is the weak link here.
Fortunately, for every issue I faced, I have a solution in this step by step guide. Maybe one day 3D printer manufacturers will set up the firmware correctly so nothing needs fixing.
I recommend this kit only if you then flash a newer, better configured version of Marlin (provided below). It's hard to buy all of the components cheaper elsewhere.

This hex file can be flashed as shown in the video instead of the Creality hex. As a bonus, it also adds a bootloader so you can update firmware in future via USB cable.
