HOW TO RIG A CANE POLE
1. Tie your line on a couple feet down from the tip
2. Tape it down
3. Wrap the line up the pole all the way to the tip
4. Tape it down
5. Cut the line 4 to 5 inched below the full length of the pole
6. Tie on your hook so it hangs an inch or so above to bottom of the pole
7. Attach lead or float as needed
8. Go Fish
Thanks for checking out my video!
So far the Duct Tape method has worked for me. These old school real bamboo poles lack an eye to tie onto at the tip so I rely on tape to keep the line attached. It seems a little sketchy but honestly works. With no knot there isn't a weak point up top and the tape is easy to replace and redo if needed. The weak point seems to always be at the knot connection directly to the hook. If you get hung up or break off you loose the hook but the rest of the rig remains. I tie in a new hook and get back to the fishing. If you have any questions or a different way of rigging up feel free to leave those in the comments.
