Schools reopened on March 23 with fresh precautions against COVID-19, including a leave of absence (LOA) for those who travelled during the March holidays. The Education Ministry said fewer than 10% of students and staff will have to observe an LOA or Stay-Home Notice (SHN), and the affected numbers are "manageable". At schools, students broke into small groups in classrooms, or spaced out their tables. They were also assigned seats in the canteen. Meanwhile, the International Baccalaureate (IB) has cancelled exams in May due to the pandemic. Nearly 20 schools will be affected, including the Singapore Sports School.
