Garlic typically is planted outside.. Very often it is done in the fall for a spring crop. Garlic likes the cool weather. If you missed your fall planting, just start it now indoors. Get it growing and then get it in the ground. Garlic season is typically March through mid June, here in Maryland Zone 7.
