When your mind is full of psychological distress from frequent doctors appointments, this meditation can guide you through relaxation to help ease your physical pain and encourage emotional healing. If you want to use guided imagery to assist in your healing from any illness, this meditation is written and created just for you. If you only have time to do the guided imagery and don't want to bother with the body scan first, fast forward to 16:50 in the video.

I produced this meditation following a specific request from a listener who wanted a visualization meditation for healing cancer and shrinking tumors.

I want to make it quite clear that I'm not claiming that guided imagery can heal cancer.There is no evidence that meditation can help to prevent, treat or cure cancer, or any other disease. But it is used as a complementary therapy to ease your discomfort, stress, anxiety and nausea while following your medical plan and doctor's guidance.

Relaxation exercises such as this guided imagery can help in addition to professional medical advice and is used by many cancer centers around the world.

Here on the Generation Calm channel, I believe that stress management deserves a seat at the doctors table and these meditations are meant to arm you with the extra resources and tools to empower your healing journey and keep you more in control of your symptoms.

So find a quiet place to get comfortable, follow my soft voice and allow your mind to conjure up the pleasant images I describe. It might take some practice to get used to the process, but you have the healing power within your mind to ease pain and anxiety.

Note: Please don't let anyone tell you that you have to "think positive" to overcome cancer or any other illness. You can't be positive all the time, it's an impossible task that can lead to feelings of guilt. Practice self-compassion and allow yourself to feel all emotions as you go through this journey.
