Covering its first 40 years, this is the first visual/oral documentation of the
Watts Towers Arts Center, at the foot of the famous Simon Rodia Watts Towers. Sculptor John Outterbridge, assemblage pioneer Noah Purifoy, former Watts Towers owner William Cartwright, curator emeritus Cecil Fergerson, poet Kamau Daa'ood, and artists Judson Powell, Alonzo Davis, Joan Claire Kleihauer, Charles Dickson are among those revealing the dynamic history of this cultural institution in Los Angeles, in the “hub of the universe”, known as Watts. Hosted by Congresswoman Maxine Waters.
