Not a month after our first video about the structure of coronavirus, we made a new version, with updated science. We teamed up with biologists from Scripps Research, who are working on discovering the structure of coronavirus. The model in this video represents their current understanding of the molecular composition of SARS-CoV-2, including the latest theory on how genetic information is organized inside the virus particle. Resolved molecular structures provided by the biologists have been transformed into a 3D model by researchers at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology. We at Nanographics imported the model into our real-time molecular-visualization software, where we composed the final video. Indeed, what you see here is all rendered in real-time.
