David Armstrong interviewed Silver and Bronze Age great, John Buscema in 2001 on set at San Diego Comic Con about his early drawings, training, entry into comic books, first jobs at Timely Comics, his influences, yearning to be in the illustration business in the late 1940s, his various genres of comic book work for Timely, how he prepares his drawings and generates a layout, Jack Kirby's influence on his art and superheroes in general, encountering George Tuska and Charles Biro, his relationship with Stan Lee, why he preferred Marvel over DC, the Dell movie adaptations, working on Silver Surfer with Stan Lee, Don Heck, his monetary success for Marvel, his love of Europe, his opinion of superheroes and his love for Conan.
