18 million people across 157 countries and territories came together for the biggest waste collection day in human history on 15 September – World Cleanup Day 2018. This was a shared effort of thousands of organisers and leaders who raised awareness and created lasting change in their neighbourhoods. World Cleanup Day began on the small island of Fiji and travelled around the world before ending in American Samoa. Millions of people joined together to act for change, many amidst storms, unrest and other very severe challenges.
