Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Spark, we're gonna be taking a look at, I'm going to show you how to install the Thule standard snow tire chains, part number TH01221060. Keep in mind I'm installing these on tire size 185-55-15.These chains are gonna be a manganese nickel alloy construction. They're gonna resist rust and corrosion. They're gonna have a diamond pattern to give you more tire coverage, D-link style chains with two flat sides that are gonna wear more evenly and give you more surface contact between the tire and the roadway. The inside chains and components are gonna have a painted surface so they're not cold to the touch and they're not gonna harm the finish on the wheels. Another great thing about these chains, they're gonna have color coded connections for easy installation and you're not gonna have to get down in the snow to get them installed.

These chains are gonna come in a quantity of two, have a nice carrying case for easy storage. If you'd like to pick up an extra set for the other tires, just use the same part number. Now that we've gone over some of the features, let me show you how easy they are to get installed.First thing we wanna do is lay our chains out and make sure we don't have any kinks or knots in the chains. Then we wanna make sure that this yellow end right here is towards the back of the tire. You're gonna notice a V right here in the center where the chains split; that's gonna be the center of the tire on the inside.

What we're gonna do is we're gonna take this end, we're gonna go around the front and come out at the back. Just feed it around. We're gonna take the two ends of our cable. One end has a hook, the other end the tab. We're gonna push the cable back behind the tire and we're gonna lock them together.

We're gonna take the red link and put it on the red hook. Now we're gonna take our chain, we're gonna move it around until we get it evenly spaced, and then we're gonna take the gray chain with that rubber tensioner and then we're gonna go through our locking lash. We're gonna feed it through like this, let go of the lock, and we're gonna pull up and cinch it down. And we're gonna take the chain, go through the red hook, take the red hook on the end of our tensioner, we're gonna hook it to the chain. You wanna make sure that the hook is facing out.Once you've installed one side, you're gonna repeat the process on the other side, get in the vehicle, drive forward a few feet, and make any adjustments necessary.
