Seiko Baby Tuna Divers watch Review SRP639
Seiko PROSPEX -Professional divers 200 metre water resistance ISO certified. This is one cool but functional divers watch. Make sure you read my Blog for extra info on this Seiko model. Super mega bright Lumibrite markers, unidirectional bezel, rugged look, silicone band.
Ready for action.
After approx. 2 months of wearing, diving and swimming with this watch.
Big but comfortable due to the base of the shroud having nicely rounded edges. Resistant to cold, so far with my experience (early model Seiko 5) for 7 years extreme abuse and this one now 3 months almost, no issues with shock- jumping in and out of pools, sea, diving (ok no had knocks- unlike my trusty ECO DRIVE- bashed the crap out of it. Easy to read, although I would have liked to have a different accent color to yellow being used on the minute hand as it kind of blends in with all the giant Lumibrite markers when the emission has decreased and it's low light and you need to see the dial-ok this won't happen on a night dive as u have a torch/flashlight- but like Citizen do with some of their Pro models, the minute hand is a contrasting fluoro orange.
The pros' of the silicone band is that it is rot proof and can not harbour bacteria like nylon straps. Watch pins are easily accessed due to through holes.
Totally recommend it, Automatic, 4R36 hacking movement, day and date. Big but comfortable, if active it keeps good time too. But if you want total accuracy wear a Solar/Quartz model. But they don't have the coolness of this Automatic with 24 jewels. JMHO.
