Water woes continue across the country. And rural communities bear the brunt. In Mpumalanga, the community of Newline village has a huge water problem.
Residents claim they are forced to travel a long distance to get water, or they have to buy water, and some even share their water source with animals.
The Mpumalanga Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs says water challenges in the province are caused by sabotage, vandalism and the construction mafia.
