My name is Katie, and I’m a mom of 6! I was raised on a feast of the best books, and have carried on that love of picture books to my own family. I am an avid reader, have a large home library (ask my husband 😏), and a passion for the world of illustrated stories.
Picture books aren’t just for young kids, they hold immense value for parents, teachers, and yes, even teens. 🤓 C. S. Lewis once said, "I am almost inclined to set it up as a canon that a children’s story which is enjoyed only by children is a bad children’s story." Encapsulated in the pages of the best illustrated literature are well written plots with engaging characters, and works of art on every page, all of which has been condensed to about 32 pages, which is no easy task.
A book can be an escape to worlds you never dreamed of, and with so many people homeschooling, or doing virtual distance learning, books are even more important for our children to expand their worlds. 🌏🌍🌎
