Michael Egan provides an insight as to what to expect at the Grassland Demo at #Moorepark23, which takes place on Tuesday, 4th July in Teagasc Moorepark, Fermoy, Co. Cork.
The Grassland Demo area this year will cover a range of topics around mid-season grazing management and the role white clover can play in reducing chemical nitrogen fertiliser. The benefit of white clover production in grass based production systems has been widely reported in recent years, with a 10% increase in animal production and the potential to reduce chemical nitrogen fertiliser by up to 100 kilos of nitrogen per hectare.
The grazing demo will showcase how to best manage grass clover swards and the optimum fertiliser application strategy to maintain herbage production and reduce N surplus on farms, as well as improving overall sward quality and maintaining animal production.
On the day, Advisors and Grassland Specialists will be on hand in the demo to answer any questions you may have.
