Controversial boxer Imane Khelif has won gold at the Paris Olympics.

The crowd chanted “Imane, Imane, Imane” as the Algerian boxer walked out for her bout against China’s Liu Yang.

This comes after the Algerian boxer made waves during her first bout at the Games after the first few punches left Italian Angela Carini visibly bloodied and fearing her nose had been broken, opting to pull out after just 46 seconds.

It was also revealed Khelif was disqualified from last year’s world championships after the International Boxing Association said she had failed a gender eligibility test.
