[ Ссылка ] Task review by Ruth Jessop :
"Another day with 100% cloud cover. A 64 km task was optimistically set flying north, then north west to a second turn point, Ess and Goal.
Very light conditions made it difficult at the Start to get enough height to clear the take-off ridge. As Brad Gunnuscio said, ‘Let’s make the impossible happen’ and that’s exactly what they did!
The day brightened just at the right moment. Lots of different routes split the gaggles up. It was an amazing race with Tim Bollinger doing a lot of the leading out. 47 pilots made goal rounding off this first World Cup in Ecuador with 3 fully valid tasks and lots of free flying on the untaskable days.
Today’s winner and the overall competition winner all hinged on lead out points and kept everyone in suspense until the final scores were published.
The World Cup App launched for this competition has also proved very popular with the pilots, it has made the commentary, live tracking, leader board and results much easier to follow on mobile phones and tablets, available for Apple and Android (search for PWCA)."
