Robert Ramskill.
PRACTICE TIPS.
The metronome mark for this piece is a lively crotchet= 240. However I would suggest that you practice it with a "one in a bar feel", that is dotted crotchet=80. It is the same speed but it will flow better.
Try not to accent the 2nd beat in bars 23-28 which would be easy to do with the chords that include the heavier thumb in the LH.
The fast staccato quavers of bars 33, 35, 76-78 will need a lot of work to play them evenly.
Bring out the LH tune (keep the RH chords lighter) in bars 38-53.
Good fingering technique will be needed to keep the bass line legato for the chromatic line bars 54-61. In this video I have used 4th and 5th fingers alternately. It will take a little getting used to crossing your 4th finger over your 5th finger, but it is will produce a better effect than the suggested one in the book if you can manage it.
