When you get a P0088 Fuel pressure too high trouble code on a 2.0l Audi Q5, A4, A6, A3, most people start to throwing parts at it. But what needs to be done is check timing chain tensioner and see if it’s completely out. When it triggers this fault it’s because the chain is worn out and it causing the exhaust cam to pressurize the high pressure pump prematurely and therefore it triggers this fault. At this point the timing chain needs to be replaced along with guides and tensioner.
