ZSL Whipsnade Zoo is a 600-acre nature haven, home to thousands of native species. So when two brown long-eared bats were found injured and unable to fly, keeper Tyrone - who is also a registered bat carer for the Bat Conservation Trust - stepped in and took them under his wing.
He nursed the mother and pup back to health from his own living room after discovering the pup weighed just 3 grams - the same weight as a penny!
After four weeks of dedicated care, the pair were then released back into the Zoo grounds, which is fantastic news for the protected species, and the ecosystem as a whole. Well done Tyrone!
