He always asks for the "lesser battery", which makes his truck slower. This is because he never feels "ready" for more speed. This was UNTIL TODAY! A RIGHT OF PASSAGE was about to happen! I have been putting a 3S lipo in his truck, and changing the settings on speed controller (on the truck) to training mode - which makes the truck go 50% speed. I have been hoping Maurice would want more speed one day.. and today just happened to be it!
When Maurice was unable to climb a dirt hill today in the yard, I mentioned to the camera it was waiting to be on "3s lipo mode".. and he said " WANT TO TRY REAL MODE".. Haha! I busted a gut! Then, he showed off his RC skills (Radio Control), and piloted his truck to the top of the hill! WOOOO HOOO!! GOOD BOY!! Off to the back yard scale park :)
My job as a father is to teach my son different coping skills in life. I find this hobby to be a great way to do that. Communication, Building, Thinking, all types of lessons can be applied during an RC session. IT DOESN/T MATTER WHAT TYPE OF RC YOU HAVE, as LONG AS THE ONE YOU HAVE MAKES YOU SMILE!
