All the books I read in July + a little review for each.
Seven Days in June - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ A fantastic exploration of second change romance and the chronic pain rep was amazing. But the third act felt a bit rushed to me.
A Convergence of Desire - ⭐️⭐️ when all the rivals in the story are redheads, I feel a little miffed
Homebodies - ⭐️ ⭐️ the lack of agency on the main character's part really left me frustrated
Paris the Memoir - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ADHD hotties for the win (but also major content warning for the time Paris spent at teen camp, it was sickening to read.
Duke of Depravity - ⭐️ Should I be glad to see a main love interest who is a redhead? sure, but give ginger's better love interests
Solomon's Crown - ⭐️ ⭐️ The romance was sweet but the story felt hemmed in by history. Either commit to the historical fiction or don't
Clytemnestra - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ a breathless retelling that kept me turning the pages, desperate to read more
Fourth Wing - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Yeah i see the bad reviews, and no i do not care
Emma of 83rd Street -⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ Ms. Emma Woodhouse will always have my heart
Yellowface - ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ I don't know, the insufferable nature of the narrator aside, it felt a little too much like an author insert. Ifkyk.
My goal in August is to read all of Barack Obama’s summer book recs - I’ve been waiting to start till the very first of the month! Anyone want to join me?
