Hey Softball Fans,
Took the NEW 2019 Fab 4 Helmer Signature Series for a ... SPIN (sorry had to).
The looks and details on this bat is wicked cool, one of the best looking bats in the lineup.
At first, I saw the new Spin Technology and was very skeptical of how much it can affect the ball.
Straight from the get-go I felt the difference with the spin-technology when getting the bottom half of the ball.
MY ASSUMPTION --
The barrel details (checkered red) are actually projected as grooves on the surface of the bat. I don't believe its just for asthetics, but that it acts to grip anything that the barrel comes into contact with. By doing so, the barrel creates more backspin on the ball. "Takes a normal swing and the ball will react as if it was cut with extra spin" - Easton
Would definitely love to hear your opinion on this one.
In Easton fashion, or in Helmer-fashion, the FAB 4 bat comes "loaded" with a 1oz end load and in 25.5/ 26.5/ 27.5/ 28.5. The only other 2019 bat in the Easton lineup that comes "loaded" is the Helmer Police Worlds Blue Line, but that comes in a whole number weighting (26/27/28). If you prefer the heavier feel, this bat is for you.
Overall, love the decal and feel of the bat. There was little to no vibration on poorly hit shots and every part of the barrel felt super hot. There is still a break-in feel with the bat.
