This video montage tells the story of the original Accessibility Internet Rally for Austin (or AIR-Austin), produced by Knowbility, a nonprofit organization based in Austin, Texas. From the initial cheer of the rally opening, the video takes you through the process of the team selection launch party, to the design meetings, to the competition at rally day, to the final expo and awards celebration at Charitech. Note that some of the teams, even at this first event, had matching t-shirts. Note the food, most of it donated by various Austin businesses to keep the web design volunteers well fed and happy. Sharron Rush advisoring. Jayne Cravens training. And lots of smiles and fun.
"Our deepest appreciation goes to the team that shot, edited and set to music this important piece of history for Knowbility. Thank you!" "Poor Boy Blues" by Chet Atkins
AIR began as an onsite hackathon in the 1998 - before the word "hackathon" existed. It is now OpenAIR, an online event bringing together almost 200 web designers and developers from all over the world to learn the latest accessible website design techniques and use them to build websites for nonprofits and artists - in just five weeks. Note: the original AIR events had designers build the websites in ONE DAY.
AIR is a program of Knowbility, a nonprofit organization in Austin, Texas. More information about Knowbility: [ Ссылка ]
