When: May 16, 2024, at 7:30 PM ET (Free Event)
Where: Virtual Zoom
Who: Black Men Only
As Black men, you often find yourselves navigating a world filled with stereotypes and preconceived notions. From the myth of the "angry Black man" to the pressure to embody an image of strength and invulnerability, these stereotypes can weigh heavily on your shoulders.
But here's the thing: you are so much more than the narrow boxes society tries to squeeze you into. You're complex, multifaceted individuals with unique experiences, challenges, and triumphs. And it's time you reclaim the narrative, shatter the stereotypes, and embrace your whole, authentic selves.
This is why we have created a new Black men-only safe space, led by our resident therapist, Dr. Rick Wallace, a Black male therapist who gets the weight you carry.
This event is designed to be a safe space to unpack the pressure and expectations you face without judgment. In this open forum, you'll have an opportunity to talk about the real stuff you go through and why seeking support might feel different for you.
Dr. Wallace brings a wealth of experience and understanding to the table. As a Black man, he intimately understands your unique struggles and burdens. With his guidance, you'll learn how to navigate life's challenges with insight and empathy.
This is a safe space to unpack the pressure and expectations you face without judgment.
Here, no subject is off-limits. You can openly share your experiences without fear of criticism or misunderstanding. Our goal is to create an environment where every voice is heard and respected, allowing you to explore the complexities of your life with authenticity and compassion.
Feel, say, share, and hear from other Black men.
Holding in difficult emotions only leads to further distress. This is your opportunity to express yourself fully and authentically. By sharing your stories and listening to one another, we can build connections and support each other on our journey towards resilience and empowerment.
