Minister of State for National Development Desmond Lee, representatives from the marine nature community - Nature Society, the Toddycats and Wild Singapore - marked the start of establishing Singapore's first Marine Park.
An introductory guided walk was conducted where MOS Lee and the volunteers visited intertidal areas where a variety of marine life can be found.
Six more dates have since been set for the two hour guided walks, on Sept 10 and 11, Nov 23 and 24 and Dec 22 and 23. Each session can accommodate up to 45 people.
Visitors will be introduced to marine species like the Giant Clams, Black Sea Cucumbers, Seahorses, among others.
