This animated video tells the fictional story of Fowzia. Like any other vulnerable family in the rural Somali settlement, Fowzia and her family were able to benefit from the new biometric mobile money transfer modality introduced by FAO to overcome challenges like insecurity and fraud when giving aid money to the people. FAO used a new in-house developed biometric verification app called BiMO. The system enables beneficiaries to register without an ID, they only need to be present once for verification after they are registered. The system helps many beneficiaries in rural areas like Fowzia to keep their entitlements confidential and receive them without any risks. FAO, through series of checks like confirmation of receipt through Call Centre, ensures the process is smooth and beneficiaries like Fowzia receive their money. Contributing to the wellbeing of the affected populations is at the heart of FAO.
