Goong Ob Woon Sen is a popular Thai street food dish with a strong Chinese influence. It is known as “Jumbo Prawns with Glass Noodles” or “Ginger Shrimps and Glass Noodles.” The ingredients are simple and easy to find. The shrimps are cooked in this yummy ginger sauce with white peppercorns, Sichuan peppercorns, and fresh herbs along with some nutty sesame oil and sweet Chinese cooking wine. In our version, we use bacon and its fat for some additional aromas. When this sauce is cooked with glass noodles, it soaks up all the aromatic and umami flavors. Today, we are going to teach you how to cook this authentic Thai classic, Goong Ob Woon Sen in your kitchen. It will taste just like the one you can find on the street in Chinatown of Thailand. As in one of our favorite’s Mark Wiens’ video ([ Ссылка ]), we attempt to replicate and share this delicious recipe with you. Once you are comfortable with this recipe, you can easily substitute the shrimps with a whole crab (Pu Ob Woon Sen). This is another classic dish that you can easily find in Thailand.
