November Track Day at Anglesey. Oddly sunny and warm in the morning and cooling off into the afternoon. The car is an absolute monster, so I need to re learn a few bits on a tight circuit like Anglesey. Never have a I had neck ache from a track day before, so I need to really consider throttle input and gear selection (and head position). The footage looks pretty underwhelming, I think party due to the smoothness of the camera, but from the drivers seat its like wrestling a big Octopus............
Changes to the car since the last outing are;
1. Oil and Filter change,
2. Remap, to make sure the engine is running correctly with no overfueling,
3. Fitment of an Oil Temperature Guage, using a sandwitch plate on the oil filter housing (message me if you want more details) and a Stack Guage which sits nicely under the dash. Both coolant and oil temps are now steady and sit around 80c to 90c, which I consider perfect.
4. Removed and refitted the steering column as the steering was over heavy, it was a 15 minute job to remove, clean, lubricate and refit. Basically the shaft was tight in the little white collars...
Next change, and I said this would be done sooner, but to take some camber out of the front end. Currently at 3 degrees, but will be changing to 2 degrees so soften the turn in, and hopefully remove some of the mid and corner exit oversteer.
Will also be changing the brake fluid to SRF (the pedal went to the floor after the second session - lots of air on the NSR), and fit a high effort brake pedal. I preffer a rock solid pedal with less movement to help me with heal and toe. Without heal and toe the back end feels a bit light entering the corner as the rear wheels slow down from engine braking.
For now, HAPPY, not wanting any more speed, but needing more control 😂😂😂
