At least 38 people have died in Nepal since early Friday as continuous heavy rains triggered widespread flooding and landslides, blocking major roads and disrupting domestic air travel, officials reported on Saturday.
Authorities warned the death toll could increase, with 29 people still missing over the past 30 hours.
Most of the casualties occurred in the Kathmandu Valley, home to four million residents and the nation's capital, where flooding halted traffic and paralyzed daily life.
