Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has announced measures to combat the spread of misinformation and misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) and deepfake technology, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming general elections. As part of these efforts, content generated with AI and deepfake technology will be labeled as "altered" on both platforms.
