In a game between the Calgary Flames and the Seattle Kraken on March 4, 2024, Calgary's Martin Pospisil was penalized for checking Seattle's Vince Dunn from behind with a little over six minutes remaining in the game. Dunn was injured and did not return, nor did he play the following game for Seattle.

Pospisil was ejected from the game and is facing a potential suspension. Coach Dave Hakstol called his actions "garbage."

Pospisil is having a hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on March 6th, 2024 where they will determine how long Pospisil will be suspended -- if he is suspended at all.
