SeniorLiving.org’s Editor-in-Chief Jeff Hoyt made plans to travel from his home in Los Angeles to Puerto Rico for a party, then visit his mom on the East Coast on his way back. But problems ensued. His mom got sick, requiring her to stay at a sub-acute medical facility. Then #COVID-19 started its deadly spread, preventing anyone from visiting the facility. She was to be transferred to a senior living home which did allow visitors, until the coronavirus spread even further, and the senior living home went under lockdown as well. A curfew was announced in Puerto Rico, altering his travel plans yet again. Then, another curfew was announced in New Jersey, where his mom had been moved. Would he complete his Mission Impossible to see his Mom? And was seeing her the right thing to do?
