A Landmark Day Shaping India 🇮🇳 's Highway 🛣 Infrastructure History!
Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 114 National Highway projects in various states, collectively worth about Rs. 1 Lakh Crore, including the 19 km long Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, in Gurugram, Haryana today.
To alleviate traffic congestion between Delhi and Gurugram on NH-48, the Haryana segment of the prominent 8-lane Dwarka Expressway has been constructed, costing approximately ₹4,100 Cr. It comprises 2 packages: a 10.2 km stretch from Delhi-Haryana Border to Basai Rail-over-Bridge (ROB) and an 8.7 km section from Basai ROB to Kherki Daula. This expressway will offer direct access to the IGI Airport in Delhi and the Gurugram Bypass.
Today marked the inauguration of several significant projects across India, including the 9.6 km Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Delhi, 3 packages of the Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh, the Anandapuram-Pendurthi-Anakapalli section of NH16 in Andhra Pradesh, Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh, and the Dobaspet-Heskote section in Karnataka. Additionally, 42 other projects, totaling ₹20,500 Cr, were unveiled in various states nationwide.
The foundation stone has been laid for significant projects, including the Bengaluru-Kadappa-Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, Belgaum-Hungund-Raichur Section of NH-748A in Karnataka, Shamli-Ambala Highway in Haryana, and Amritsar-Bathinda corridor in Punjab. Additionally, 39 other projects, totaling ₹32,700 Cr, are underway across various states in the country.
These initiatives will make substantial contributions to expanding the National Highway network, fostering socio-economic development, creating employment opportunities, and facilitating trade and commerce in various regions throughout the country.
