Climax 1694, working hard and stalling several times whilst ascending the 1 in 30 grades of the Fielder bank between Cockatoo and Gembrook, on the Puffing Billy Railway, Victoria, Australia. The locomotive eventually made it to the top, but was still having issues and passengers continued to Gembrook on foot, with the train catching up later! The Climax is a wood-fired geared locomotive built in Pennsylvania USA specifically for timber tramway use. 1694 was built in 1928, and ran on the 2'6" gauge Tyers Valley tramway for 21 years. It is now preserved and based at Emerald on PBR. This video was filmed on a photographers charter from Emerald to Gembrook and return, run by Sierra Publishing. Filmed 9th of September 2017.
