Christmas shoppers had a surprise as more than 300 Santas raced past them on their 5km route around Stratford Town Centre! The rain didn’t dampen their Christmas spirit as our festive runners were out in force raising funds for The Shakespeare Hospice on Saturday 10th December.
Raising more than £8,000 for the hospice with money still coming in, it was a brilliant day with lots of Christmas cheer. The Shakespeare Hospice even brought snow with them with the snow machine that Tracey Proctor kindly let the hospice borrow.
Organiser Jenny Cowin said “I am thrilled at the amount of support we have had so close to Christmas and the enthusiasm of all the Santas. It was amazing to see a sea of red and white running off into the distance. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has involved in the 2016 Santa Run!”
