My dad has been in the market for a portable metal cutting band saw, and when this one turned up for $10 at a farm auction I couldn't pass it up. It's a Millers Falls Model 9954, which is a rebranded Ingersoll-Rand Model 8099. The patent for this saw was granted in 1971. It looks like this saw was made in the 1970s, and it's had a hard life in a farm workshop.
While this isn't an entire teardown and restoration, I do give the saw a good cleaning, replace a worn out oil seal, and new gearbox oil. It needs new bearings, and the brushes might need to be replaced in a next few years, but it's well worth the $10 I spent on it.
