Roma Termini is the biggest train station in Rome and one of the largest in Europe. The name “Termini” comes from the Latin word for baths which is “thermae” and is due to the location of the station across the street from Baths of Diocletian. Piazza dei Cinquecento, near Termini station is a major hub for bus lines in Rome. The square is dedicated to the five hundred Italian soldiers who died in the Battle of Dogali in 1887.
