The family sailing crew of Element, living aboard a Catana 471 Catamaran while spending their first Winter off-season exploring Turkey, make their final inland tour of Turkey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cappadocia, a semi-arid region known for its distinctive “fairy chimneys,” tall, cone-shaped rock formations clustered in Monks Valley.

During their visit to Cappadocia, they explore an open air museum with Bronze Age homes carved into valley walls by troglodytes (cave dwellers) and later used for refuge and churches by early Christians. Later that day the crew of Element come across a pottery shop where the girls get a hand at trying traditional pottery making.The following morning, the crew wake up early for a hot air balloon tour of the valley, witnessing the amazing panoramic landscape and the stunning colours with the morning sunrise.
