STORYLINE
There was quiet in the heart of London on Friday as the city struggled to return to normal.
The Russell Square tube station serves Bloomsbury, the early 20th-century literary commune where Virginia Woolf and other luminaries lived.
The British Museum and the University College London are a short walk away.
But on Friday the tourists and students were staying home. The streets were instead crowded with police and the media.
Forensic and police teams worked quietly behind tarpaulins, gathering evidence to help find the culprits and identify victims.
A blast caught a train deep underground between the King's Cross and Russell Square stations on Thursday and police said at least 21 died.
Two more died in a double decker bus explosion near Russell Square in a coordinated blast, bringing the total number of deaths to more than 50.
