9-BALL - In 1995, “Rocket” Rodney Morris and “King James” Jim Rempe faced off at the Sands Regency 9-Ball Open. Morris turned professional in 1994 at just 25 years old. He had no professional credentials at that time, but it must be noted that in 1996, he defeated Efren Reyes for the 1996 U.S. Open 9-Ball title. Rempe, 48, had a long list of major accomplishments worldwide, starting his major tournament wins back in 1971 with a Hustler’s World 1-Pocket title in the infamous Johnston City All-Around tournament. From 1972-78, he won 23 pro tournaments in many disciplines and garnered some World titles. His career slowed down by 1995, so let’s see how things turned out.
David Maddox and Scott Smith handled the commentary.
