The father Victor was a son of Italian emigrants. He grew up in a family of 12 children. During the second World War, he served in the US Army and after that started working in the building industry. The mother Jeanette used to work as an operating room nurse. In addition to that, she loved fashion a lot and had amazing collections of dresses, accessories and other things. In a marriage with Helmut, the actress gave birth to two kids. The firstborn is a daughter Liza, who was delivered in 1975. As for her personal life, she has been happily married to Alex Hesterberg since 2004 and together they are raising four children. Liza made a decision to leave the moviemaking business and founded her own company Sage Spoonfuls that provides tools to make perfect meals for kids and teens.

In 1987, the family welcomed a son Andreas. He works as a co-founder and CEO of First Due. In 2017, he married Courtney Velasco and together they bring up their kids.
