This Vegan Boil Channa is a popular snack at some bars around Trinidad and Tobago. It's usually eaten by itself, like a soup and it's usually served in a styro cup or bowl.
Ingredients:
1 cup of dry channa/chickpeas soaked overnight in water and 1/4 tsp of baking soda
1.5 tbsps of garlic
3-5 bandhania/chadon beni leaves
3-5 pimento peppers
hot pepper
A few sprigs of thyme
1 tsp of roasted ground geera
1/4 tsp of baking soda
1 tsp of salt
2-3 cups of water
Pepper condiment
4 cloves of garlic
4 bandhania/chadon beni leaves
4 hot peppers
1/2 tsp of salt
Juice of 1/2 lime or lemon
1/4 cup of water
