Adding some resistance training while out trail running is a great way to add a form of interval training and gain a session of resistance training for those who are extra tight on time...We can't really use the excuse that we don't have access to weights as a reason not to add some muscle and bone building exercises...
I have a great deal of fun doing this with my trainer "Iris" and her Intern "Abby" out at the state parks two to three times per week. I try to stop at 5 different locations along the way and do about 12 reps of each exercise, and then sprint a bit with the running.
Caution: Many wet rocks and stumps to trip you up...go slow!
