Keeneland gets things underway with “Fall Stars Weekend,” featuring nine graded stakes with $3.6 million in purses. Seven of the races are Breeders’ Cup “Win and You’re In” contests, highlighted by Keeneland’s first $1 million race, the Grade I, Shadwell Turf Mile run yesterday, the race featured two-time Horse-of-the-Year, Wise Dan who won his 14th straight race on the turf live on TVG.
As part of Fall Stars Weekend coverage, TVG will utilize a number of production enhancements, including lipstick helmet cameras on select outriders and gate crew members, a steady-camera allowing for reporters to navigate the race competitors and virtual graphics to display prominent network sponsors and additional betting information.
Rounding out Keeneland’s six Grade I races is the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup, scheduled for Saturday, October 11.
