BMW E46 M3 running on Pirelli Trofeo R tyres in the BMW Car Club Racing Series.
It was a very hot and sunny May bank holiday in Northamptonshire for the second weekend of the new BMW car club racing series BMWCCR, this made for a great family event and enjoyed by all who came to participate or observe. As lovely as it was to see the rare sight of sunshine on any bank holiday weekend, it also meant we had engine cooling troubles which made both races difficult to push for the win whilst managing engine water and oil temperatures.
After a dreadful standing start, (getting this beast off the start line isn't as easy as you would think), I managed to catch the pack up but it wasn't long before the engine temps got hot and I had to back off a little, start to lift and coast and short shift.
I needed to keep the front pack in my sights as I knew they were struggling in the heat, and also defend off the two cars who were all over the back of me, not an easy job.
All in all a great weekend and picked up two 3rd places.
