It’s Ricoma’s first video of 2021, and we’re starting the year off with a brand-new addition to our Embroidery Hub series! This week, you’ll meet our Video Lead, Tony, as he sits down with Willy to critique some of our customers’ embroidery work. Watch as they give their opinions, offer advice, and rate the final products from photos featured on our Facebook group, Embroidery and Custom Apparel Mastery. By getting the opinion of one expert and one novice embroiderer, you’ll learn just what to look for in your work to make sure it’s first-class! Plus, by leaving your own critique in the comments below, you can win a 3-month subscription to Hoopmade!

We’re breaking away from the craft room for this special edition of Embroidery Hub and taking the time to help customers and embroiderers from all over the world with their embroidery. If you’ve never heard of Embroidery and Custom Apparel Mastery, it is a Facebook group Ricoma created that is open to all custom apparel decorators with over 20,000 members.
In this group, we see hundreds of members posting photos of their work daily and encouraging their colleagues to offer advice and constructive criticism. Remember, we can all improve our craft with tips and pointers from experienced embroiderers, which is why we decided to create this series and apply our expertise to real-world examples.
To make things even more interesting, we will be giving away a 3-month subscription to hoopmade.com to one lucky winner who gives a stand-out critique in the comments section of one of the designs featured in this episode. Hoopmade is a collection of high-quality embroidery designs that are ready-to-sew and, more importantly, ready-to-wear. For more info on Hoopmade see the link above.
For this series, each piece of work will be judged and scored from 1-5.
1: We suggest watching some of our tutorials on Embroidery Hub and utilizing our resources.
2: Embroidery looks like a test or practice run.
3: Embroidery shows great effort and would be ready for client with a little fine-tuning.
4: Embroidery is solid work and is portfolio or website ready.
5: Embroidery is excellent, world class!
All submissions for this series will be taken from Embroidery and Custom Apparel Mastery. So, if you’d like to be featured on this show, make sure to post your work on our Facebook group with the caption “Please rate my work!” You can join 20,000 other embroiderers and custom apparel decorators of all experience levels by clicking the link above.
