The Karnataka assembly has passed an anti-cow slaughter bill under which the accused can be imprisoned from three to seven years and can be fined Rs. 50,000 to 500,000. The bill has been passed amidst stiff opposition from the Congress. This bill is said to be passed for the prevention of cow/cattle slaughter. Debates on this bill was there in Karnataka since 2010. However, since BJP is not in majority in the council of the state, the final decision is still awaited. Cow slaughter has become a big political agenda in the North and is now heading towards the South. Stay tuned for more!
