We heard during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend that Alpine had made a last ditch offer to Carlos Sainz, but now it’s been revealed that they are prepared to add a release clause which would enable him to be a free agent in 2026. This would be dependant on a drive further up the grid or underperforming results for the Alpine team in 2025. Giving Sainz flexibility if something better comes up.
