In Liberia, the main opposition presidential candidate, Joseph Boakai, is actively working to secure the support of smaller parties as the nation anticipates a likely run-off election against the incumbent, George Weah.
The provisional results, based on data from 99.9% of Liberia's 5,890 polling stations, indicate that neither of the two leading candidates has garnered over 50% of the votes, preventing a clear winner from being declared at this point.
George Weah currently holds 43.8% of the vote, while Joseph Boakai has 43.5%. The National Elections Commission is yet to officially announce the need for a run-off election.
